Just picture it, Scott Pioli, alleged co-mastermind of the Patriots dynasty, stuck in an office run by Lord Vador, aka Bill Belichick. Most people probably thought he flurished, unearthing gems like Tom Brady, Wes Welker, an entire offensive line of anonymous white guys, and winning mulitple Super Bowls without a significant fantasy football running back.
But inside, little Scott was just repressed. Too much left-brain, not enough creativity. With Pioli racking up football victories in a humorless world, was it any surprise that he finally cut the cord and ventured off on his own to a once proud NFL franchise in Kansas City?
He’s already pulled one over on his old squad, getting Mike Vrabel and quarterback Matt Cassell for a mere 2nd round draft pick. He’s also made it a priority to add a little sunshine to the office. In between finding a new head coach, signing a hold-out first rounder, and trying to resuscitate a team that turned into a punchline, the Chiefs have found the time to make a fairly funny spoof video of RTGD’s favorite television comedy. While they struggled to fill Jim’s shoes, they did a great job getting an Angela, Toby, and Dwight, and unearthed a solid sleeper in their Pam Beesley.
