RTGD just completed our first ever interview with a starting Big 12 QB. We’ve made it! Cody Hawkins (who in his first ever non-start of his career came off the bench and went 20-29 for 226 yards with four touchdown passes in a comeback win over Iowa State) was nice enough to let us into his house between class and meetings to talk about life as the Colorado quarterback. Keith is busy transcribing our conversation in the other room, but we’ll have it up by tonight or tomorrow morning
In honor of us getting to know Cody, and having the chance to ask him about his dad’s classic rant about the rigors of DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL, I felt it necessary to post the video to remind everyone that we’re not following intramural football:
We got in to Boulder late Tuesday night, which gave us a good amount of time to get to know the area. The campus is beautifully located on the base of the Flatirons- rock formations along the east slope of Green Mountain. We’re staying with a friend about two blocks from Chautauqua Park which has a ton of great trails up the mountain. In the name of the website I risked my life on a hike for a few good shots of Boulder:

We managed to sneak in a late afternoon viewing of Role Models. I was really looking forward to seeing the movie because I thought the previews looked hilarious and anytime Minnesota’s own Steve Stifler joins up with Paul Rudd and a few other of the Apatow crew I’m definitely going. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as I hoped. It was alright. It definitely had me laughing out loud a number of times, but many of the lines were a little forced. The storyline was good, but the movie seemed to move from A to B like it was paint by numbers. Elizabeth Banks was good-enough, or just good-looking, I’m not sure. All of the actors gave pretty good performances but Stifler’s ‘Little” could get a little bit preposterous. All in all it was a good way to spend a late Wednesday afternoon, but not as good of a movie as I had hoped.
RTGD is heading up to the mountains tonight to get a day of boarding in tomorrow. Hopefully no bones are broken for the game Saturday, and I’ll be sure to report back to our followers if Keith finally goes off his first ever jump. Actually, there’s a good chance that would lead to broken bones, so I will do my best to keep the lead driver from doing something he may regret. The Pick Six will be up tomorrow morning and the Cody Hawkins interview will be up as well.

For the record, I’d just like to say that I’ve gone off many jumps. I just usually don’t like hitting them with any speed. Is there anything lamer than a broken wrist for 8 weeks?
yeah, snowboarding.
I never would have thought of that
